High pressure thudding noise coming out a leak somewhere? Or worst case scenario for me is the DMF or crankshaft pulleys, or it can be bent air valves. The garage will test for this with a pressure/compression test. Haven't taken the car for a spin and The car made the noises when it was idle in the garage.
DMF Mondeo TDCi 130 Warning Signs ??? - Chad.R : The starter issue as described above (it gets clogged with swarf from the disintegrating DMF and can get stuck) is one tell-tale. One other is a loud clatter and vibration (on top of the usual diesel noises) at idle.

Faulty MAP sensor, hose to MAP, or wiring & plug to MAP. This measures the turbo boost pressure. It is mounted on top of the cam cover. About 2.4 Bar abs is the normal max boost. Faulty turbo actuator, including connector & wiring. It may be possible to see this moving when revved on the driveway, but would need a helper. Jammed Turbo.
1. Engine overheats. One of the first symptoms of a potential problem with the cooling fan resistor is engine overheating. If the cooling fan resistor fails or has any issues, it can cause power to be cut off from the cooling fans, which can lead to overheating. Any sort of overheating issue should be tended to as soon as possible to avoid the

Symptoms started a couple of months ago, engine seemed to lack power from cold start, it felt like there was no turbo, after 20 seconds all was fine. This was intermittent, maybe 30% of the time. Hi Guys Just wondering with all the talk of DMF's and the high cost of replacement, what are the signs when a DMF starts to fail. The symptoms of a P2566 trouble code include reduced acceleration, smoke from the exhaust, fouled spark plugs, excessive noise from the turbocharger, and higher-than-normal engine and transmission temperatures. Other common symptoms include a hissing sound issuing from the turbocharger wastegate and surrounding hoses and lowered engine performance.
Engine options for the 2007 Mondeo were a 2.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, a 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo-petrol in the XR6 Turbo, and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel. In July 2011 a highly efficient turbo-petrol unit displacing 2.0 litres replaced the naturally aspirated 2.0 petrol.
